Study in UK FAQs

Numerous benefits of studying in UK make the country a preferred destination for higher education among students from around the globe. This country is home to some of the most prestigious institutions that offer a range of study programmes spanning a vast array of disciplines. Boasting a strong economy, the UK has a thriving job market and offers excellent career prospects in almost every field. Beyond this, the exceptional cultural diversity experienced here is also very helpful in promoting personal growth.

Eligibility to study in UK varies by university and programme. Basic requirements include being over 16 years old and possessing an acceptance letter from a recognised institution. Demonstrating English language proficiency is crucial, typically through tests such as IELTS Academic, PTE Academic, or TOEFL. You will need to meet specific academic qualifications, such as completing 12th grade for undergraduate courses or a bachelor’s degree for postgraduate programmes. While academic transcripts and a strong Statement of Purpose are key, standardised entrance exams like the SAT or GRE/GMAT are rarely required to study in UK.

International applicants should ideally begin the student application process in UK 12 to 18 months before their course start date. For September intake, applications usually open in the previous year around September or October. Early application ensures better chances of securing a place and arranging visas, scholarships, and accommodation. Eligibility includes completing previous academic qualifications (like 12th grade or a bachelor’s degree), meeting English language requirements (such as IELTS Academic), and providing necessary documents. Timely planning is crucial for a smooth admission experience.

Yes, you can study in UK after 12th. The country offers an exceptional academic environment and a wide range of undergraduate courses for international students. Popular courses after 12th grade include Business & Management, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Arts & Humanities, and Computer Science. To be eligible, International students must have completed 12th grade with strong academic performance, meet English language requirements (such as IELTS Academic), and fulfil specific course prerequisites. The UK’s universities offer world-class education and a multicultural experience that helps students unlock their full potential.

To get a UK student visa, you will first need to apply to your chosen university and get a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). Once you have your CAS certificate, visit the official UK government website to complete the visa application form. Submit all required documents, including a valid passport, proof of finances, and English proficiency. Then, pay the visa application fees and the Immigration Health Surcharge. Book an appointment to submit your biometric information (fingerprints and photograph) at a visa application centre and then wait for the decision.
